A Shifting Lightness

A Shifting Lightness album artwork. Abstract illustration of hills, the sky, and a distant island, all in soft colours.

A Shifting Lightness, my second full-length album, is an exploration of lightness and memory. When writing the music, I was living alone for 18 months near a small town in the North of New Zealand. Every morning I would go downstairs into my half-underground recording space, and from where I was writing I could only see through a single window above ground.

Not only did I have the opportunity to delve deep into myself, but later in the process I was also able to share the experience with others. This album features sensitive performances that truly take my breath away, technical dedication of the highest degree, and countless other generous contributions from friends old and new, making this my most rewarding project to date.
